Kirk "Aquaman" Boeger terrorizes the local lobster population
Kari had a work function in Puerto Rico and managed to hop over to St. Thomas, U.S.V.I. and visit Kirk and Cara.
Coincidently, her visit was just before Kirk's 40th birthday. Happy Birthday Kirk! At this moment he is celebrating on St. John with Cara friends, and I sure can't blame Kari if she wishes she were still there. Kirk zipped her around on his little boat to some choice snorkeling spots around St. Thomas and St. John. (Little did he know that a party was being set up in his honor for later.)

Simon's first Kuk Sool Won tournament

Simon and The Grand Master!!
On November 1, Simon competed in his first Kuk Sool Won (Korean martial arts) tournament in Oakland. There were teams from all over the country and our Alameda-based team placed 4th overall. read more »

Henry scares it up with the gals
October was a fully loaded month. Henry turned 5 and he enthusiastically celebrated the 31 days of Halloween: he'd dress up after school, go out in the front yard, and either a) practice scaring people as some sort of skeletal hobgoblin; or b) whiz around as Spiderman. Henry -- no doubt -- has developed a Spidey Sense about what's for dinner (that he doesn't like). read more »
Upsidedown Signature Sounds

A near miss. And then Datnoff (another friend from Hood River) passed through town the following week, but another near miss. read more »

Heatwave Man ?
We just ticked September (Northern California heat wave!) and Henry is already sifting through his costumes. Last year, he went through 7 different configurations on Halloween night... scaring the BEJEEZUS out of trick-or-treaters on our haunted porch with his various accessories (fangs, masks, reversible cape, fog machine, microphone/amp rig, spiderman gloves, etc.)
We actually had to apologize to a girl from school the next day at school for scaring a bit too much. read more »
